The Hidden Market Impact of Clock Changes: Trading Hours Adjustments

As Europe and North America exited Daylight Saving Time over the past two weeks, global markets entered one of the most operationally complex periods of the year. What might appear to be a simple administrative shift triggers major adjustments across the trading landscape – influencing trading hours from Brazil to India.

Time accuracy provides a strategic edge. That’s why at Swaps Monitor, we make it effortless to stay ahead of every adjustment. We provide precise, real-time visibility into every DST change and every exchange trading window – down to the second

Monitoring Uncertainty: Nepal’s Political Instability Triggers Turmoil in Financial Market Operations

Over the past two weeks, Nepal has been caught in a fresh wave of political instability, injecting significant uncertainty into its financial markets. Market participants have had to navigate rapidly shifting directives, with trading and settlement availability changing abruptly and frequently.

Authorities initially imposed day-by-day closures, which soon escalated to weekly shutdowns—only to be reversed, then reversed again.

To further complicate matters, trading and settlement schedules were not aligned. Trading remained halted for multiple days, while settlement systems operated sporadically.

These disruptions impacted the following:

🔹 KtS (Nepal Stock Exchange trading holidays)
🔹 KtX (Nepal Stock Exchange settlement holidays)
🔹 NEPSE Settlement Cycle
